Tell your existing Plan Manager you’re switching to a new provider. If you’re unsure of exactly what to say, feel free to copy and paste this text into an email for your existing Plan Manager:
Dear X, I’m writing to let you know, I wish to exit your service for NDIS plan management. I have completed a service agreement with another plan manager and would like to commence plan management with them as soon as possible. Please email me back to confirm you have received this request, stating the date you will release my service booking, so I can complete the transition. Thank you for your assistance. [Your full name] NDIS Number xxxxxxxx |
Keep in mind that most Plan Managers have a 30 day notice period in their Service Agreements to allow time to finalise processing of invoices and claims prior to transfer. So if you're making the switch, this is a good place to start. We recommend notifying your currently Plan Manager in writing so that you can retain a record of the email.
Let your new Plan Manager know you want to sign up with them. Of course, we are hoping that’s US! If so, you can do that here via our online sign up form
Most providers have a 30 day notification period for cancelling services, although some may process the exit sooner. This gives them a chance to receive and process any outstanding invoices and claims relating to your plan. You can ask to have this period shortened, but we always recommend that you communicate this in writing, and ensure they confirm the final date of service.
As soon as your existing provider cancels your service with them, (ie processes your exit), your new Plan Manager can activate your account with them and begin processing your invoices from your current NDIS plan.
Changing Plan Managers is easier than you think and your new Plan Manager will handle most of the work once you give the go ahead. So… what are you waiting for?!!!
